Green Alliance is undertaking policy analysis in order to better understand the benefits of the electric vehicle transition for consumers, particularly lower and middle income households. Supported by the European Climate Foundation, the analysis will enable policy makers to harness and direct the benefits of electric vehicles towards specific demographics, at the same time as decarbonising our dirty transport fleet.
The project will also highlight how, if it all, the EV transition can ameliorate transport poverty in Britain and contribute to a reduction in average spending by households on transport. As part of this, the report will also explore the benefits of electromobility beyond private transport, ie the electrification of buses and the role of mobility as a service.
The project runs from June to December 2019. We will produce a short report with infographics.
