Frieda Metternich

Programme and strategy manager (maternity leave)
Frieda joined Green Alliance in 2013 as a policy assistant in the Low Carbon Energy theme, working on the UK’s electricity market reform and energy efficiency policies. She became a policy adviser in the Political Leadership theme in 2014 where she worked on the Climate Leadership Programme with MPs, supported climate and environment advocacy, and led the Greener London work with our NGO partners. In September 2016, she became programme manager, working with staff across Green Alliance’s policy programmes and developing new areas of work. Frieda previously undertook placements with Crisis Action and World Ecology Economy & Development in Berlin. As part of her studies she worked with the Dutch foundation World Waternet and carried out research in Morocco, focusing on the governance of water and sanitation at local and national levels. She holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management from Utrecht University and a BA in International Relations and Development Studies from Sussex University.
