Summary
The UK’s green economy is set to grow rapidly, but young people aren’t being prepared for the careers it will create. Youth unemployment is at a ten year high and AI is reshaping entry level work.
This analysis maps how the green and AI transitions will reshape jobs and skills across 12 sectors over the next decade, and draws on focus group research with young people, teachers and careers experts to examine its impact. We set out how the government can ensure young people are ready for the jobs of the 2030s, from careers guidance to curriculum reform to fully resourcing Skills England.
