Our Positive Action Trainee Scheme, launched in July 2024, aims to kickstart careers in the environmental sector and provide opportunities to underrepresented groups. We are offering roles in our policy, politics and operations teams for 12 months starting on 4 November.

The deadline for applications is 2 September.

This scheme is run in collaboration with Creative Access and applications must be made via the Creative Access platform. We cannot accept direct applications for these roles.

Please note, applications are invited from those underrepresented in the environmental and think tank sectors. This includes, but is not limited to, Black, Asian and ethnically diverse candidates and individuals from lower socioeconomic backgrounds.

Starting my career at Green Alliance has been a great opportunity to learn about how to bring about positive change in UK politics. The team here have so much expertise and have really helped to demystify the inaccessible world of Westminster. From day one, Green Alliance has consistently made me feel that they value my perspective and provided the support necessary for me to develop my knowledge and skills.

Graduate scheme

The Positive Action Trainee Scheme replaces our Graduate Scheme which ran from 2015 to 2024. This offered new graduates the chance to launch their careers with a year’s paid work as policy assistants. Hear from some of our past policy assistants about what it was like to work at Green Alliance, and the experience they gained.
