Summary
The UK has committed to a zero carbon power system by 2035. Achieving this is crucial to the UK reaching net zero, but what does a zero carbon power system look like? Using new Green Alliance analysis of 30 power system projections, our expert panel discussed how three building blocks fit together to form a zero carbon power system. We also discussed where we think current government policy is insufficient to meet the 2035 target, and what should change. We linked this to the Energy Security Bill and explored options for improvements that could catapult us forward to 2035.
The discussion included an audience Q&A.
