Summary
On Tuesday 15 October, Lydia Collas, head of natural environment at Green Alliance, interviewed environmental campaigner Guy Shrubsole, to discuss his new book The Lie of the Land.
Our wild species have been in decline for decades. In The Lie of the Land, Guy Shrubsole paints a vivid picture of some of the most dramatic failures of land stewardship in Britain’s recent history. But it also tells the story of the people trying to pick up the pieces – the small scale farmers, community groups and members of the public who seek to be the custodians of land, whether or not they own it. In overturning the ‘lie of the land’ Shrubsole shows that we can all become custodians of the countryside once again.
The discussion was followed by an audience Q&A.
