Summary

The government published it’s climate and growth action plan on the 29 October 2025, following a legal challenge to the previous administration’s 2023 Carbon Budget Delivery Plan. This set out emissions reductions policies to achieve the UK’s carbon budgets, and its national pledge to cut emissions by 68 per cent by 2030 under the Paris agreement.

The new climate plan, which the government framed as a Carbon Budget and Growth Delivery Plan, presents a crucial opportunity to show British people how addressing their climate concerns can provide warmer homes, cleaner air, better transport, thriving nature and new good quality jobs.

On Wednesday 5 November 2025, we took a deep dive into what the plan means for nature restoration and the transition to clean technologies in transport, homes and industry with analysis from Green Alliance experts.
