Summary

The UK can rightly claim to be a driving force behind the global growth of offshore wind. But this early leadership has perhaps made the UK complacent. Our emissions reductions have been rapid, but we have been slow to take advantage of the next wave of opportunities.

In this collection of essays, experts from Green Alliance and other organisations set out how to explain some of the challenges posed by the US Inflation Reduction Act and provide answers.

Along with other organisations, we are promoting a range of ideas and practical policies across the economy to rejuvenate the UK’s green growth strategy. We hope these will form part of the UK’s necessary response to increased ambition in the US and elsewhere and will keep us in the global green race.
