Political leadership for net zero, with Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Chris Skidmore MP, chair of the Net Zero Support Group
Summary
At this event we heard from two political leaders, from two different political traditions, in two very different roles, who both want to tackle environmental crises, often in the face of opposition.
It was held at a pivotal moment for the UK’s net zero delivery. The US Inflation Reduction Act has created waves, especially ahead of the legal deadline to update the UK’s net zero strategy.
Chaired by the BBC political correspondent Ione Wells, the discussion featured insights, reflections and challenges from two of the most high profile environmental leaders in elected office in the UK.
We thank Zero Waste Scotland for sponsoring this event.
