Summary
The UK faces a convergence of serious challenges: rising poverty, sluggish economic growth and mounting geopolitical instability, all compounded by the escalating impacts of climate change. This publication highlights how these crises are deeply interconnected, and rather than viewing economic and environmental issues as competing priorities, we show that a transition to a green economy is the path to improving living standards, national security and our natural environment. Our recommendations focus on two core areas: UK-wide growth through green investment and developing resource and energy security.
This is a pivotal moment for the UK to lead internationally, foster resilient communities and build long-term prosperity. This publication provides policymakers with the evidence and policy tools needed to unlock the opportunities of a green economy and deliver a safer, more prosperous future.
