James joined Green Alliance in September 2016 as a policy assistant in the Political Leadership theme. In September 2017, he became a policy adviser in the Natural Environment theme.
Before joining Green Alliance, James was a Fellow of the Charityworks Leadership Development Programme, working on strategy development and strategic projects in a large charity. He has volunteered in a variety of roles, from conservation to campaigning, and attended the 40th meeting of the IPCC as an assistant to the Netherlands delegation. He was also a Student Research Fellow with Maastricht Law Faculty on a project exploring the connection between climate science and law.
He holds an MSc in Sustainability Science and Policy from Maastricht University and a BA in History, Politics and International Relations, and Philosophy from Durham University.
