Summary
Over three billion journeys were made by bus in the UK in 2022. Buses remain the most used form of transport across the country and provide customers with an unrivalled low cost and green option for travel. They are the essential backbone of many areas, connecting people to jobs, education, and their communities.
On Monday 4 March 2024, this event discussed how government could encourage an increase in bus passengers, as well as how to decarbonise England’s bus fleet. We highlighted the findings of our report, A bus revolution: driving up prosperity across the regions which presents a costed 5 year plan to better, greener buses.
The panel discussion was followed by an audience Q&A.
