Why work with Green Alliance?

Thought Leadership

We provide expert insight on the politics and policies that affect the environment.

Impact

Our work is influential in shaping the policy agenda and addressing the environmental crisis.

Network

Our network cuts across all sectors and the political spectrum. It includes leading thinkers from business, government, NGOs, academia and beyond.

Our work

Green Alliance operates at the heart of the environmental movement, with a network that extends to senior decision makers and influential voices in all sectors and parliament.

We increase impact by leading powerful coalitions, such as Greener UK and the Green Renewal coalition. We also collaborate with other NGOs on research focused on environmental solutions and workable policy to address the climate and nature crises. For example, influential projects with WWF and the National Trust on new recommendations around agriculture and the environment.

Trusts and foundations support major ongoing programmes of work, for instance Cutting Carbon Now and Decarbonising Transport.

As well as joining our Business Circle, companies work with us on specific ventures, such as the Circular Economy Task Force, or on bespoke projects in support of our strategic objectives. For instance, work with Deloitte on setting scoring criteria for environmental impacts.

Green Alliance has done a great job of bringing the environmental sector together as Greener UK, on setting out an ambitious agenda through and beyond the Brexit process.

Tanya Steele, CEO, WWF UK

Esmée Fairbairn Foundation has supported Green Alliance for over 20 years. Their model of connecting diverse organisations to work together is really what’s needed if we are to push – collectively – for improved environmental policy and leadership in the UK.

Caroline Mason, chief executive, Esmée Fairbairn Foundation

I have really valued working with Green Alliance on the resources agenda in recent years through their Circular Economy Task Force. It has made an influential contribution, pushing the government to be more ambitious, and is genuinely ground breaking in its approach, with its mix of sectoral interests and collaboration.

Dr Adam Read, external affairs director, SUEZ recycling and recovery UK

Green Alliance’s new strategy directs the organisation’s considerable policy expertise and influence towards the need for rapid and real action on the climate and nature crises, and we strongly support its focus on a fair and just transition for society.

Sufina Ahmad, director, John Ellerman Foundation

Triodos Bank is proud to be part of Green Alliance’s Business Circle. It provides a unique space for us to join important conversations across sectors about the economic development and change needed to secure a greener future.

Bevis Watts, CEO, Triodos Bank

The UK has committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050 in order to tackle the climate crisis. It’s essential that there is strong political leadership to ensure the policy is put in place to achieve this target and that’s why Green Alliance’s Climate Leadership Programme for MPs is so important. Green Alliance has played a crucial part in providing new MPs with an informative set of briefings about climate change and in helping to build cross-party support behind positive action.

Chris Stark, chief executive, the Committee on Climate Change

Green Alliance continues to play an important role driving policy development and engagement on climate change. Its work across government departments has been invaluable in helping to solve the complex challenges we face in decarbonising our economy.

Rt Hon Alok Sharma MP, President of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference

Corplex joined Green Alliance’s Circular Economy Task Force in 2021 because it is giving voice to the most effective ways to make the circular economy a reality, through its research, membership and connection to policy makers.

Lucas van der Schalk, CEO, Corplex

Farmers are seeking ways to tackle climate change and biodiversity loss in a commercially viable way. Green Alliance’s independent analysis and convening has really helped to advance these ambitions.
