Summary
In collaboration with Green Alliance and Lancaster University, Rebecca Willis investigates how members of the UK parliament understand and respond to climate change, including interviews with 23 current and former MPs and featuring anonymised stories of four MPs.
Significantly, the study finds that politicians understand the need for action on climate change, but it is not straightforward for them to make the case for it. This insight offers three main reasons for why this might be, and presents recommendations for developing a renewed political mandate for climate action in the UK.
