This workshop explored how digital technologies are changing the buildings sector. The discussion had a particular focus on opportunities for smart technology to promote low carbon and resource efficient growth and the role of policy in driving innovation and investment in smart, clean solutions in the design, construction, use and end of life of buildings.
With opening remarks from Mark Atherton, assistant director of environment at Greater Manchester Combined Authority, and Emma Degg, chief executive of the North West Business Leadership Team.
The Tech Task Force is a unique initiative, bringing together businesses and innovation organisations to look at how to accelerate the adoption of smart technologies in helping UK businesses improve their bottom line and long term competitiveness, while reducing their environmental impact.
